Another day with no appointment!

Well, no one called yesterday from the scheduler's office. I called again this morning and was told a msg would be sent back. By 2:00pm I knew I was going to call back. And then they said that Maria's records were under medical review. I might get a call back in several weeks. SEVERAL WEEKS! Now I know that I can relax becuase there is no way they will see her next week before she leaves for the tour. But I spent lots of time calling her specialist's office today to send medical records anyway.

Looking for that elusive Neurofibromatosis Doctor!

Today starts a new journey for Maria. This is our quest to get her into the Neurofibromatosis Clinic at the University of Utah, Salt Lake City. Now, a phone call was made this morning to find out how we get an appointment. The usual stuff was requested, like records, but they also wanted a letter of recommendation. From Maria's current physician. Had to leave a message for that dr office this morning and it's 1:15 and no response. Bout right. My hope is that they will take her next week and she can have testing before she goes away for the summer. In my head I know that's not possible, as getting into these doctors usually involve a couple of month wait. So we'll most likely get in after she gets back in August. Wish I had gotten this going sooner.
She's having so many problems these days, and I have given up trying to find doctors in Boise that can help her. I spend a lot of time talking to dr offices, and to employees who really don't know too much about NF. It's time to get Maria some real NF help from some real NF doctors. Wish us luck.
